Ceramic and porcelain tiles are traditionally produced by kiln firing. They are available in different colour and sizes, but also with different finishes.
- Gloss. The shiny gloss finish is hardwearing and easy to clean.
- Matt. Offering a more contemporary look, they are finsihed with a satin or matt surface.
- Satin. The silky look is very popular.
- Anti-slip. Using a special slip-resistant surface, these offer added safety and security.
- Polished. This highly reflective, lustrous finish is very popular.
Porcelain tiles are specified for their strength, water absorbtion, shock and wear resistance achieved with “trhough body colour”.
Ceramic tiles are recommended for light traffic areas, and for internal use.
Porcelain tiles can be used in commercial buildings, heavy traffic areas like shopping centres, airports and can be suitable for external uses thanks to their low water absorbtion.
